Dining in Turks and Caicos
Going out to dinner in Turks and Caicos is one of our favorite things to do. Well, actually, it is one our favorite things to do on any vacation. When my husband and I are at the beach, we start thinking about supper first thing. We eat breakfast before going to the beach and usually eat something lite for lunch. By the time we finish lunch, we are already thinking about dinner for the night. I mean, vacation is all about relaxing and eating, right?
Dining in Turks and Caicos is great. There are so many great dining spots in Providenciales and the Grace Bay area. We have been to pretty much every restaurant in Turks and Caicos. Like anyone else, we have our favorites.
You will find a variety of restaurants in Turks and Caicos. There are lots of great options for both casual and fine dining. At dinner, we like to go to a nicer restaurant that is in the Grace Bay area or close. We stick to the more casual scene for lunch.
Planning Dinner in Turks and Caicos
When we are in Turks and Caicos we do like to somewhat plan where we are going to eat before going. Of course, now that we have our favorites, we do not venture out much. Trying new restaurants are always part of our trip, but we make sure not to miss out on our favorites. We are not hung up on just eating fish while at the beach as many are. We like to try all sorts of things.
The food in Turks and Caicos is great so do not be scared to venture out and try things. On our last trip we ate fish, pork, and beef. All were great. If you just stick with fish you will miss out on some other dishes that are the BOMB. The dining in Turks and Caicos is really wonderful. You want to make the most of it while there.
My husband and I are pretty judgmental when it comes to food. We live in the south and we eat well. The south is of course known for their good cooking. We have traveled many places and to many islands and in my opinion Turks offers some of the best food of any islands that we have visited.
From my experience, I am going to give you my Turks and Caicos dining guide and my favorite 5 restaurants in Turks and Caicos. They are really in no particular order but I think that you should try to visit each of them while visiting the island. Please also keep in mind that this list includes mostly dine dining restaurants.
I started with Somewhere Café because it is the least fancy of all. It is our go to spot if we just want casual dining but great food. Somewhere Café is located directly on Grace Bay in the Coral Gardens Resort. Depending on the hotel we stay in, we usually just take a short stroll down the beach to get here. All dining is outside. You can either sit on the lower level or the upper level. The sunsets are awesome here. I will say, be cautious of when you arrive to eat and wear sunglasses if you arrive before sunset because the sun can be brutal (but awesome) depending on where you sit.
The food here is a tex-mex style. They have awesome burritos as well as chips and salsa. We have only ever gotten their burritos and tacos minus one time I ordered a Caesar salad (which was good). We typically eat here at least twice as we love their breakfast as well as their lunch and dinner menu. While eating dinner here, I would say try a dessert. Their chocolate cake is awesome!!
The prices here are not bad. We always spend less here than most places. But, keep in mind; it is casual dining so the prices are obviously going to be less than a fine dining spot. If you are looking for a good, laid back atmosphere with good food and good drinks, then this is your place.

Bay Bistro in Turks and Caicos is located in the Sibonne Beach Hotel directly on Grace Bay. Like most restaurants on Grace Bay, the sunset is amazing. Again, if you are there before sunset take some sunglasses. Depending on where you sit the sun may be right in your eyes and unpleasant. I am not complaining about this because I welcome the sun and love it. But just be aware and prepared so you are not squinting and uncomfortable while trying to converse and eat.
My husband and I love this spot and the food. One of our favorite things on the menu is the conch wontons. The conch wontons have won first place several times at the conch festival. We also love their fish and their mango mojitos.
Bay Bistro is a higher scale dining spot. The meals are going to run around $30+ each and the appetizers range from around $8+. Again, the food is great. The atmosphere is great. What more do you need?
Magnolia Restaurant and Wine Bar
Our first time to try Magnolia Restaurant and Wine Bar was a couple of months ago. This particular restaurant is located in Turtle Cove. It was easy for us to get to because we had a car. If you are going by taxi, the ride will be a little costly if you are staying in the Grace Bay area. The taxis are always higher when leaving the Grace Bay area.
After eating here, it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in Turtle Cove. It sits 40 ft above the Turtle Cove Marina and again, offers great sunsets. We always eat outdoors if possible when in Turks and Caicos. But, they do offer seating indoors as well as out.
Our food here was awesome. We enjoyed chicken and vegetable spring rolls for appetizer and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with apple bacon jam for our meal. It was mouth-watering good. The couple next to us said the rack of lamb is their favorite but we do not eat lamb so we just took their word.
This restaurant is a little farther out (from Grace Bay) but is totally worth trying.
Opus is another restaurant that we cannot say enough good things about. It has a great atmosphere and great food. Opus is located at the Ocean Club Resorts. It is not on the beach but the great atmosphere makes up for not over-looking Grace Bay.
The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is filled with palm trees and lighting. Opus is a finer type dining restaurant, but, guys you do not have wear long pants or jackets here. Girls, we usually have on a cute sundress so we are good wherever.
Last, but not least is my favorite Coco Bistro. Everything about Coco Bistro is top notch. It has been our favorite restaurant in Turks and Caicos since our first trip. Coco Bistro is in the Grace Bay area and is within walking distance to many resorts.
It is set in a palm grove which makes for a perfect atmosphere. I love eating and enjoying the palm trees sway. We prefer to go after dark because it is lit up and beautiful. My husband and I have had nearly everything on the menu and we have never had a bad meal.
In addition to good food the service is top notch – always! To sum it up, you must go to Coco Bistro while in Turks and Caicos. You will not be sorry.
I hope that my Turks and Caicos dining guide helps you the next time you are on the island. Dining in Turks and Caicos is great and you have so many options. The finer dining restaurants on the island do not disappoint.
Some of the more casual places have slower service and are on “island time” as I call it. With this list of restaurants you get top notch food and top notch service. I am sure some have had bad experiences but mine have been great.
The food prices in Turks and Caicos are more expensive than what we are used to at home. But, we do not mind paying for good food, a good atmosphere, and good service. I hope you enjoy the food in Turks and Caicos as much as we do!
